Arrived in Nadi

Posted by admin On July - 9 - 2006

After almost 3 hours at the airplane I arrived in Nadi. I was really excited because it was my first time on a tropical island with real coconut palm trees. I had bought the cheapest bag/luggage and finally at the airport I saw the result. I was not the only one with this bag…saw about four others. So my heart started to beat very quickly I prayed that nobody took accidently my luggage. But after waiting for about 30min I found my bag and was happy. Then I was looking after the shuttle to the first bagpacker, the ‘Horizon’. I ask the driver after stoping at an ATM machine because had no money with me. He was very friendly and brought me to the Westpac ATM. Now I had my second problem – the machine gave me no money, I tried it several times. Finally I went to the ANZ money machine and got some. Meanwhile it was dark outside when I arrived at the ‘Horizon’. I checked in and went straight to the beach. Because it was so dark I could not recognize that this beach was the opposite of beautiful. It was dirty and grey. So I went back and sit under a tree and met Bins a fijian boy. We had a chat but it was pretty difficult for me to understand his dialect. It seems then very ironical for me when he asked me if I can speak english… Because it is saturday today he recommended me the polynesian and fire dance at the ‘Aquarius resort’. And so I went there and took a couple of beautiful photos.
